A Little Information About Water
My Grandma has totally gotten into finding green info for me to use on my blog. She’s given me magazines that have articles that talk about green ideas and even signed me up for a subscription to one of them. She’s also sending me emails that she thinks I might be able to use. This is all too cool for words as far as I’m concerned.
But anyways, one of the email she recently sent me was about water. I thought the info was pretty interesting so I thought I’d pass it along. Thanks Grandma.
• 60% of your body is made up of water
• 70% of your brain is made up of water
• 80% of your blood is made up of water
• You can go 1 month without food but couldn’t last a week without water.
• Water covers most of our planet but only 3% is fresh and most of that is ice.
• Less than 1% of fresh water is readily accessible for our use.
• ¼ of the water that enters our homes is used to flush the toilet
• 1 flush uses 3 gallons of water
• A load of laundry uses 40 gallons of water
• 10 minutes in the shower uses 50 gallons of water
• Brushing your teeth with the water on uses 4 gallons of water
• Brushing your teeth with the water off uses .25 gallons of water
It’s just something to think when you turn the water on and maybe it’ll help remind to you to turn it off more.
