I Want to be Like Ed Begley Jr. When I Grow Up

Why you ask? It’s because of his house, that and his whole super greenness.

His roof is covered in solar panels, his white picket fence is made out of recycled plastic jugs, he has a bicycle that charges batteries and a solar stove. He grows almost all his own food and the rest of the lawn is covered in drought resistant plants like lavender (my fave). Awesome!

And I really love that Ed Begley Jr. has essentially the same philosophy that I do about being green; every little thing you do matters. You don’t have start with the solar panels, but they’re a nice place to end up.

I knew a little about green living when I started this and have learned a whole lot more sense. And the more I know the more I want to do. Luckily for me Todd is very supportive and has taken to not even turning lights on to avoid me yelling asking him to turn them off when he leaves the room.

Sometimes I feel like I've gone a little nutty what with the reusable bags, organic milk and absolutely having to go to the farmers market every Saturday but after listening to Ed I feel much better about my crazy greenness.

Check out the article about him and his house, watch “Living with Ed” about him and his family on Planet Green or just watch the clip below.
