Organic Wine, Yum

I’m not a big drinker, but I do like the occasional glass of wine with dinner. The thing is that even alcohol gets my allergies going most of the time. I know, shoot me now.

But I have found that I can drink organic wine if it’s 100% organic and I only have a little (did I mention I’m also a super light weight?).

The Daily Green had a nice break down on what different organic labels means (which is similar to the one I did on organic food labels).

They also mention biodynamic wines which sound very green to me. Biodynamic wine is not only grown organically but also in a way that’s more in tune with nature. Like by watching the stars and planets to time what they do. I’m sorry but I think that’s awesome.

And then there's the new green wine Yellow + Blue (get it, green) in a juice box type package. It’s organic and the packaging will contribute about half the amount of greenhouse gas emissions as a conventional bottle. Of course there is the getting past the fact that you’re drinking wine out of a box part, but sometimes being green requires some sacrifices.

If you have a favorite organic or biodynamic wine I’d love to hear about it.
