World Oceans Day

Today is the first official World Oceans Day. What’s so great about the oceans so ask?

Well they:

• Generate most of the oxygen we breathe.

• Regulate our climate.

• Help feed us.

And those are just a few things they do.

What can you do to help protect our oceans? Well The Daily Green has some ideas, here a couple:

• Don’t take plastic bags or containers to the beach. Instead take reusable ones, that way the plastic can’t end up in the ocean.

• It all runs into the sea. Skip the chemical fertilizers and bug sprays on your lawns because they will end up in the ocean.

So if you happen to be at the ocean or a lake today, take a few minutes to pick up the trash and then take a few more to just enjoy the beauty of it.
