Don't Trash It, Recycle It

It’s day 5 in a month of Easy Eco Ideas and today’s idea has to do with recycling.

Around here to help make sure everything that can get recycled does, we have a recycling can next to our garbage can. Now for us this works great, our garbage company collects all the recyclables together.

I did find that there was one thing that never managed to make it to the recycle box; toilet paper rolls. I don’t know why it’s so hard to remember to set it aside and then take it out of the bathroom and through it into the recycle can but it is. So I searched through the garage and found 2 plastic bowls, actually a bowl and an old Halloween bucket, that weren’t being used for anything and put 1 in each bathroom. Now toilet paper roles always make it to the recycle can as well as shampoo bottles and anything else in the bathroom that could be recycled.

Since doing this I’ve been amazed out how fast the bowls fill up with things that probably would have just ended up in the garbage.
