Green Cleaning You Can Trust

Not quite ready to switch to castile soap and vinegar to clean your house? That’s ok; in fact it’s today’s Easy Eco Idea.

If you want to just use something that’s designed for cleaning that’s fine, just stick with a real reliable brand like Method, Seventh Generation or Ecover.

I personally don’t think a green cleaner can really be that green if it's made by a company that also makes toxic cleaners, is seems a bit insincere to me.

Also, just like so many other products out there, cleaners can label themselves natural, organic and non-toxic without any actual proof. Plus they aren’t required to list all their ingredients so you can’t even check the label to be sure what you’re getting is really green.

I’ve used all 3 mentioned above and have always been happy with the results. I especially like Ecovers toilet bowl cleaner and rinse aid.

When I first started trying to buy green products the only place I could consistently find them was the health food store that I didn’t buy anything else from and was nowhere near the stores I did shop at. But now that being green has gotten so popular, it’s no longer hard to find any of these brands.

That kind of sounded like the “When I was a kid I had to walk 10 miles up a hill” story our parents told didn’t it?

Anyways my point is, you can clean green you just need to choose wisely.

Right now on Green Earth Journey Hyla is having a giveaway for Ecover handsoap and stain remover, so pop over for a chance to win! Plus it's just a great post that's worth a read!

I want to mention my favorite line of cleaners, BabyGanics! It's made by two clean-freak dads and I LOVE all their products. They are baby-safe and eco-friendly. I wrote a (non-paid) review about them: http://dagmarbleasdale.com/2009/04/26/babyganics-cleaning-products/
