Online Magazines Are Alright With Me
I mentioned my love of magazines earlier and how you can buy ones that are made from recycled and/or FSC-certified paper.
Well today’s Easy Eco Idea is to take it one step further, read magazines online.
You can find online versions of magazines, subscribe to a magazine online or even find online only magazines.
Going to a magazines online website works because it’s free and you can find all the info that was in the magazine there. The only problem for me is that there’s a lot of clicking around and I don’t get that relaxing feeling that comes with flipping pages.
Now there’s really nothing like flipping pages but the closest that I’ve found is subscribing to a magazine online. I found a site called Zinio that lets you do just that. You can even purchase backorders of magazines if you’d like! This way you can “flip” pages with your mouse so you get to see the whole magazine the way it was intended for a lot less then what you would pay for the paper copy.
But even better then that is that there are some online magazines that give you the “flip” feature and are free! Flipping and free, heaven! My favorite is Organic Lifestyle, lots of green news for free.
I readily admit that reading a magazine online is not the same as holding it in your hand, but I also think it’s worth the sacrifice. ;)
