350 It's A Magic Number

On October 24th 350.org is holding an International Day of Climate Action to bring awareness to the number 350.

What does the number 350 mean? Well that’s the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide; it’s measured in parts per million in our atmosphere.

Where are we at now, well that would be 387. But here’s the thing; even though we’re already over it’s not too late, we can change that number and bring it down, but it’s going to take a lot of work.

We need to make some serious changes like reducing or just plain eliminating our use of fossil fuels. Changes like that need to happen at the highest level of government, but that doesn’t mean we’re helpless, just the opposite.

Great change happens when people come together and demand it and that is what 350.org and the International Day of Climate Change are all about.

So go to 350.org learn more about the movement and find an event near you.

I actually found a rally that’s happening right here in Placerville, so you know I’ll be there!

Because I love this song. I think it should be my theme song.
