It's A Good Thing The Boys Love Our Dogs

Photobucket

Notice anything different about the above photo?

Yes, it’s practically empty.

Now how did we go from a garbage can that was only 1/3 full to empty and a new bag? Well, it’s a funny story, more of a funny in retrospect then at the time kind of funny, but whatever.

The guys and I went out of town on Friday night and didn’t get back till late Saturday night and my mom was gone all day Saturday. Now, my mom not having lived with our 2 dogs for very long did not yet have it ingrained in her that you absolutely have to close the laundry room door where the garbage can is if you are going to be gone all day.

The reason for this is that Bud (our 2 year old Aussie Shepherd mix) likes to check out the garbage in case there’s anything good in it.

You’re thinking what could he possibly be looking for since we now compost all our food scraps, right? Well, Bud’s not too picky, he’ll go for the hotdog wrappers and even the occasional diaper (I won’t even go into what we found when Dylan was a baby and did everything in diapers).

So when the guys and I got home Saturday night we found half the trash strewn throughout the laundry room. I was glad that at least he didn’t bring anything inside the rest of the house.

And that would be the reason for the practically empty garbage you see above.

Also on a happier note, Dylan has been dry the last few nights so I’m not going to put diapers on him anymore and just hope that he continues to stay dry.

YAY for Dylan being dry!! :) Go Dylan!!

Hotdog wrappers and the occasional diaper - lol!!

Well, all the more incentive to go for zero waste, no?!! :)

We try to put everything to compost too, sometimes sneaky stuff sneaks in anyway, yeah.. /sigh/ Still have some way to go..
It makes the challenge more interesting, I suppose?! :)

Think about it: if it were that easy, everyone'd be doing it!!
As it is, hopefully it will indeed become 'the norm' in time!! :)

omg, I'm sorry but that's just funny, lol. And Cujo? Completely awesome name for a big dog! We've got a Saint and I wanted to name her Cujo but...then I'd have to explain to my kids (little at the time) WHO Cujo was, lol

We adopted him with that name and it's kind of funny when people come to the door and I yell "Cujo quiet!"
He's big on barking but he's a super sweetheart!
