No Challenge But Still Low-Waste

So I just remembered that I said I would do weekly updates on my trash but I haven't actually kept track of what's been going in there. Oops..
I do know that there are lots of diapers and certainly some plastic bags from tortilla chips, rice pasta and popsicles, plus some squeeze yogurt tubes. I have a feeling there's probably some other stuff that found it's way in there since it looks fuller then it did at the end of week 1 of the original Zero Waste Week.
I did make sure to save all the cereal bags and any other waxy type bag for liners in the next set of reusable snack/sandwich bags my mom and I are going to make.
Dylan just has not been able to stay dry and I wanted to wait till we actually ran out of disposables before switching to cloth. I have to admit that I am having a hard time buying cloth ones knowing that he won't use them for very long. He had been staying dry until he got sick a couple of weeks ago, since then he only stays dry maybe once a week. But since he had been before I'm sure that he will start to again soon so I just don't know if I want to make the investment in cloth ones if they'll only be used for a short time. I'm just very conflicted.
I know that in an earlier Bash the Trash post I said I wouldn't buy anymore squeeze yogurt tubes since the yogurt comes in recyclable cartons as well. However, Dylan doesn't like the ones that come in the cartons and since it's one of the few good snacks he likes I'm again having a hard time giving it up just because I have to throw it away. So again, conflicted.
I figure my thrash is about 1/3 full, thanks to all those diapers, which is more than I'd like it to be but still way better then the all full it used to be after a week.

Congratulations for doing waay better than before!! :)
Yes, it is a constant challenge..
I thought it would be easier later on, and partly it is, cause some things become routine, it's still important to pre-plan purchases and decisions as much as possible!
Have you thought of making your own yogurt? Or try making the other kinds more yummy? (eg with homemade jam/sauteed fruit?)
I & other family members like homemmade 'sour milk', very natural, from raw milk.. My sis insists on 'bought non-recyclable yogurt', so she buys some of that occasionally, the others mostly eat homemade..
Still haven't managed to make pasta yet either.. Well, it's on the list.. :)
I've thought about it but I'm too chicken to try it. My doctor only eats yogurt she makes from raw milk & keeps trying to get me to and I always say I will, but I just can't get up the nerve.
Hmm.. First times of anything are always scary.. What's the worst thing that can happen? ;)
I know, I know. I'm sure I'll give it a try....someday.
