PeopleTowels, Loved By Trees And Greennies Alike {Review & Giveaway}

Yippee, it's giveaway #3!

Ok, I've found that in going green I have gone a little nutty. Everywhere I look I see waste and un-greenness. Yeah, I have issues, I know.

One of those issues is the whole paper towels vs hand dryers in public bathrooms.

Paper towels are bad because of the fact they're made from paper and I seriously doubt it's recycled. Plus, you always end up using more then you really need to.

Then there's the dryers. While they don't create the waste of paper towels they do use a lot of electricity. And if you have a child like Dylan who hates how loud they are you end up using toilet paper if there aren't any paper towels. And let me tell you, drying your hands with toilet paper just doesn't work.

So as far as I'm concerned it comes down to the lesser of two evils when I have to choose between them.

That was why I was so ridiculously excited to find PeopleTowels, a whole company of people who share in my annoyance with the current choices!

PeopleTowels are personal sized hand towels that you take with you so you don't have to use either paper towels or hand dryers. They're super absorbent, fast drying towels made from 100% organic cotton, eco-friendly dyes and are Fair Trade. Yeah, I swooned when I read that too.

Being that I was so excited I contacted PeopleTowels about doing a review and they were kind enough to send me a (free) set of 2 towels, Logo-a-go-go and For the Love of the Earth, as well as offer a set of 3 towels for a giveaway.

When my PeopleTowels arrived I promptly put them in my purse and actually looked forward to using a public restroom. Yeah, I can't believe it either.

My first chance to use one came on a Sunday when Todd and I had our farmers market/grocery shopping day. Without going to far into TMI territory, I will tell you that yes they were absorbent, and even better, fast drying. I love when a product lives up to it's claims!

Yes, my towel is upside-down.

The towels are a great size, just big enough to dry my hands but small enough that when folded fit nicely into my purse pocket. PeopleTowels have a little hang tag on them as well so you can loop it around your purse, backpack or belt loop, very cool. They also make a nice little carrying pouch to keep your towels, which seems handy too.

PeopleTowels says that if you "switch to their towels for 1 year you will save 1/4 tree, reduce landfill waste by 23 lbs and conserve 250 gallons of water".

These towels are seriously one of my favorite things ever. Now I'm not just the crazy reusable bag lady, I'm also the crazy PeopleTowels lady. They just make me happy.

Oh, I almost forgot, be sure to check out their very cool Earth Day designs contest!

Now onto the extra fun part, the giveaway! One lucky reader will win a a set of 3 PeopleTowels ($21 value). The contest will run from Monday February 1, 2010 thru Monday February 8, 2010 at 11:59 pm PST. Sorry, but the contest is only open to US residents.
