Is It Possible To Have Too Much Kale?
So after not visiting the garden up at my grandparents in, um, way too long I had quite the surprises waiting for me.
The leafy kale where still just as huge but we finally had broccoli coming up. Both my grandma and I thought that there would be more heads on each plant but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Remember the curly kale in the other garden that I was sure the snow and cold weather had stunted? Well I was definitely wrong about those, they are humongous!
They also make a very nice kale bouquet. However, I am thinking I may have gone a bit over board with all the kale. I’m not sure I can eat it as fast as it’s growing, but I’m trying!
And the peas, holy cow do we have a lot of peas!
The boys each picked one and Tyler actually ate his, woohoo! Too bad he won’t let me post pics of him anymore.
But even more exciting are these little pop ups that we have.

My grandpa thinks that they’re potatoes because some time back he put some sprouted potatoes into this box. So we may have some potatoes in not too long as well.
Our carrots and watermelons are doing well too but we will eventually have to thin out the watermelons. We may try to transplant the watermelons, but I’m not sure. The ground dirt here is more like clay so I don’t know if the melons would make it.
Oh, and at home, those cds seem to be working out. There are new strawberries growing that haven’t been eaten but I don’t know if the birds are waiting for them to get ripe or are actually scared of the cds. If they don’t work out I think I’ll look into these balloons that Out in Them Sticks told me about.
So that’s all for me, hopefully next week I’ll be telling you about all the strawberries we were finally able to pick. For more gardening fun stop by Feet off the Table.
Oh, and we also had a visitor that day.

What a beautiful visitor to the incredible, growing, garden! BTW, there is no such thing as too much kale as long as you have a kale chip recipe:)
I am always running out of kale! Id love to have a plant. I use mine in kale salad, smoothies and the best is KALE CHIPS! those keep awhile so you can make a whole bunch to store.
That IS a lot of kale! The broccoli only gets one big crown but don't cut the plant down after you harvest the crown. The plant will keep producing smaller florets for quite a while yet as long as the weather doesn't become too hot. Ours kept going into September last year with enough for a meal every other day.
You're linked up!
thats a buttload of kale! How do you eat kale, like in salads? I'll have to try it!
