Perspective

So this morning I was all set to do my (mostly) weekly garden update, which I was actually pretty excited about because the gardens up at my grandparents house are doing quite well. I wanted to through the fabulous pictures I had taken so I could get the post going. Well guess what, I couldn't find them.

I know I took them, I know I downloaded them, I just don't know what happened to them. So I've been all annoyed that the great pictures of the carrots we harvested, the watermelon plants, the squash that came back from last year, the multitude of tomatoes blooming and (drum roll) the broccoli that grew back (!) are all gone. So annoyed!

And then I found out my friend's mom has colon cancer.

Somehow some missing pictures doesn't seem like such a big deal any more.

So I'll be sending here lots of positive thoughts and lots of personal hugs. Any healing thoughts that you guys can spare would be greatly appreciated.

And instead of worrying about my pictures I will be thankful that my family is healthy.

I need to go hug my mom now.

omg this is awful news...I am so sorry for your friend's mom and your friend...my grandfather succumbed to colon cancer. I am so very sorry.

Onto other matters, I am so proud of you from the last few commetns you've left me about not feeling bad about standing up for your own food choices and not just eating something or doing something to humor others or make them feel a certain way about their own choices.

Bravo to you! and that you and Todd had a weekend night alone..nice!!!!!

So sorry about that news. My uncle had colon cancer. :-( My mom is super vigilant about checking for it these days. It also got the family to really assess their diet. But for him it was too late. I miss him a lot.

If your friend, you, or her mom (or anyone!) wants a great supportive community, my.crazysexylife.com is a good ning site. check it out. some folks who have/had cancer but not all.

I hate when pictures go POOF like that. It's one of my fears about technology--losing stuff.

Hugs to you and go snuggle that kitty!
