To Market We Will Go

I haven’t been to the farmers market in a few weeks since my dad was here, and a couple weeks before that because of stuff. Cant remember what the stuff was, but it was there and got in my way.

Funnily enough, my dad and his wife went last week because it was near their hotel and they passed it on their morning walk. They stopped in and bought me a beautiful basket and filled it berries. So sweet.

So my mom and I finally made it there today and man has it bloomed now that summer is in full swing! There were definitely more vendors there, although most of them had the same things. It’s still nice to have a choice though.

One new thing this week was fresh salsa. This was actually his first week there. The salsa was full of real food and was amazing. It was the perfect blend of spices and just the right consistency. If I hadn’t just bought salsa at the store I would have bought 2 containers.

Ok, and I just liked his sign.

There was also my mom’s and my favorite soap and sponge seller, Tahoe Mountain Soap Company, so we got 2 huge bars on apricot vanilla soap. Just enough scent to smell good but not so much it makes you hungry lathering up.

There were also lots of plants for sale. In October we’re going to stock up on lavender and blueberry bushes to plant up at my grandparents house. My grandparents have a hill that runs parallel to their property that my grandma would love to have covered in greenery. We're going with lavender because it’s hearty and even when it’s not flowering, it’s still green. And the blueberries, well, because they taste good. We’re waiting until October because that seems to be the best month to plant those types of plants where they live.

We left with a full basket, some solid plans and are already looking forward to going back next week.
